Mr. James Edward Wright, 74, died Thursday, April 22, 2010, at his residence on Crossley Lane after a brief illness. He was a native of Brewton, and a former resident of Hammond, Ind., before moving back to Brewton. He was a member of the Catawba Springs Baptist Church and a retired truck driver.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Brummett Wright of Brewton; three sons, James A. Wright of Demotte, Ind., Harry Mason Wright of St. John, Ind., and Daniel Wright of Wes Lafayette, Ind.; eight daughters, Belinda Leroy and Rebecca Logsdon, both of Brewton, Deanna Bradley of Franklin, Tenn., Georgia Capps of Washington, Angela Bethune of Castleberry, Roberta Wolz of Nebraska, Jennifer Reynolds and Peggy Olson, both of Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, Doug Wright and Sam Wright, both of Brewton; four sisters, Virginia Crowley of Selma, Bobbie Frazier of Arizona, Bernice Graves of Fairhope and Margaret Thompson of Brewton; 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 25, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 28, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Edwards and the Rev. Bert Bounds officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Springs Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
