In their final regular season and area game of the season Wednesday against UMS-Wright in Mobile, the W.S. Neal Lady Eagle softball lost 16-2.
The loss dropped the Lady Eagles to 6-14 overall and to 2-4 in area play, qualifying them for the No. 3 seed in the upcoming area tournament.
Kaitlin Hadaway pitched for the Lady Eagles and gave up six hits, struck out eight and walked five.
Heather Elliott was 1-for-3 at the plate with a run scored and Kena Ellison was 1-for-2.
Amanda Crawford reached base safely in all three at bats as she walked once and was hit by pitch twice.
In the area tournament, the Lady Eagles will be seeded No. 3 and will take on the No. 2 seed Jackson Aggies, Wednesday at 5 p.m. All games will be played at UMS-Wright in Mobile.
The tournament will be a double elimination format and admission is $6.
If W.S. Neal loses game one, they will play the loser of B.C. Rain and UMS-Wright at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
If they win game one, they will play the winner of the previous game at 3 p.m. Thursday.
