The T.R. Miller Lady Tiger softball team swept the area tournament Tuesday night at home to improve their record to 23-3 and claim the area championship.
T.R. Miller opened the tournament with a 16-0 win over Bayside Academy in three innings and then scored 10 runs in the second game to win 10-1 over Choctaw County to advance to the championship game.
After awaiting an opponent for the championship round, the Lady Tigers had to be defeated twice, but didn’t bother with taking a defeat as the defeated Choctaw County for the second time 5-2 for the championship win.
T.R. Miller went 3-0 in the tournament and will advance to the South regionals in Gulf Shores next Friday.
