Bosarge pitches no hitter for Red Sox

In Monday’s East Brewton Little League games, East Brewton Dodgers and East Brewton Little League softball Sunbirds team came away with wins while the Flomaton Red Sox and Braves also earned wins in their games.

The Dodgers took down Flomaton White 11-3 while the Flomaton Red Sox defeated the Cardinals 11-4.

The Flomaton Braves earned a 2-0 win over the Yankees while the Sunbirds destroyed the Brewton Heat 19-1.

Dodgers 11,

Flomaton White 3

While both teams had three hits each in the game, the Dodgers plated 11 runs to only three for Flomaton to get an eight-run win.

Conner Huskey and Brandon Moye pitched in the win for the Dodgers.

Huskey allowed two runs on one hit, walked one and struck out five while Moye allowed one run on two hits, walked two and struck out four.

Huskey was 1-for-2 at the plate while Bradley Lowery was 1-for-3 and Jeremy Sims was 1-for-1.

Dylan Emmons and Dalton Kent combined for the loss for Flomaton as they allowed 11 runs on three hits, walked 11 and struck out seven.

Dustin Odom was 2-for-2 and Hunter White was 1-for-2 at the plate.

Flomaton Red Sox 11, Cardinals 4

Four Cardinal errors helped pave the way for an 11-4 win for the Red Sox Monday night.

For the Cardinals, Tyshawn Davis, Malcolm Hawthorne, and Lane Chavers all pitched in the loss allowing 11 runs on six hits, walked eight and struck out 11.

Hawthorne was 2-for-2 with a double in the loss with Derrick Barton, Charlie Land, Chavers, and Logan Morrill all having hit.

For the Red Sox, Kainoa Gumapac, John Hendricks, and Tyler Weaver pitched in the win.

At the plate, Matthew Ledford was 2-for-3 with Gumapac, Weaver, Hunter Colley, and John Hendricks having hits. Weaver’s hit was a double in the win.

Both teams had six hits in the game.

Flomaton Braves 2,

Yankees 0

The Flomaton Braves held the Yankees to one hit to get a 2-0 shutout win.

Hayden Hammond went the distance on the mound for the Braves allowing no runs, one hit, walked one and struck out 14.

Hannah Fillmore was 1-for-2 along with Logan Hendricks and Seth Egee while Mason Dunsford was 2-for-3.

For the Yankees, Dakota Graves had the lone hit going 1-for-1.

Colton Morris and Dalton Shell pitched in the loss allowing two runs on five hits, walked two and struck out 11.

The Yankees had two errors in the loss.

Sunbirds 19,

Brewton Heat 1

In girls softball interleague action, the Sunbirds pounded out 19 runs on 10 hits to get a 19-1 win over the Brewton Heat.

Tori Wyatt earned the win on the mound for the Sunbirds as she allowed one run, four hits, walked none and struck out three.

Adria Barnett was 3-for-3 at the plate in the win and Kiki Floyd was 2-for-2 with an inside-the-park homerun.

Haleigh Dubose was 2-for-2 with a triple and Kaeli Brown was 1-for-2 with a double.

Lauren Joyner was 1-for-2 and Madison Winchester was 1-for-1.

For the Heat, Mary Allison Peace and Amelia Peach were both 1-for-2 with Shelby Evans and Shelby Mount both going 1-for-1.

On the mound, Taylor Austin, Peach, and Peace combined for 19 runs, 10 hits, walked 14 and struck out five in the loss.

In games on Tuesday and Thursday in East Brewton Little League action, the Red Sox won a pair of games along with Dodgers and Yankees also picking up wins.

In interleague softball action, the Brewton Riptide defeated the East Brewton Racers 15-4.

EB Racers 4

Anna Kate Britton allowed one hit for the Riptide while they scored 15 runs on five hits to win 15-4.

Britton earned the win on the mound for the Riptide as she allowed five strikeouts and walked eight.

Tazure Thomas was 3-for-3 and Mallori Floyd and Caitlyn Smith were both 1-for-1.

For the Racers, Katelyn Phillips took the loss on the mound as she allowed 15 runs, five hits, walked 19 and struck out one.

Caitlin Chavers had the lone hit for the Racers going 1-for-3.

Red Sox 11,

Brewton Braves 10

While both teams combined for only three hits total (Red Sox had two and the Braves had one) they combined for 21 runs with the Red Sox winning by one.

Aaron Bosarge was 1-for-2 with a triple in the win for the Red Sox while Patrick Lovelace was 1-for-1.

Matt Hutchins earned the win in relief of Eddie Taylor and Steven Summerlin on the mound, as he allowed no runs, no hits, walked and struck out three.

For the Brewton Braves, Brandon Smith had the lone hit going 1-for-1.

On the mound, Donovan Weaver earned the loss as he allowed eight runs on two hits, walked eight and struck out two.

Matthew Bradford started on the mound and earned the no decision.

Red Sox 7,

Flomaton White 4

The Red Sox picked up their second win of the week Thursday with a 7-4 win over Flomaton White.

Aaron Bosarge pitched a no hitter for the Red Sox as he earned the win on the mound allowing four runs, three walks and struck out six.

Matt Hutchins had the Red Sox’s only two hits going 2-for-2 with a double.

For Flomaton, Cole Brown and Robert Samson pitched in the loss with Brown being the pitcher of record.

Dodgers 7, Braves 4

Despite getting 11 strikeouts from Braves pitcher Weston Riddle, the Braves lost to the Dodgers 7-4.

Jeremy Sims and Conner Huskey combined to get the win for the Dodgers with Sims being the pitcher of record.

The duo combined to allowed four runs on four hits, walked five and struck out 14 while Riddle allowed seven runs on seven hits, walked one and struck out 11.

Jacoby Hawthorne was 2-for-3 with a triple for the Dodgers while Brandon Moye was 1-for-3 with a double, Huskey 1-for-2 with a double and Bradley Lowery going 1-for-2 with a triple.

For the Braves, Morgan Riley was 1-for-2 with a double and Tyler Williams was 1-for-1 with a double.

Hunter Revel was 1-for-3 with a triple.

Yankees 9, Cardinals 0

The East Brewton Yankees earned a 9-0 shutout win over the Cardinals Thursday to improve their record.

The Yankees combination of Dalton Shell and Blake McGraw on the mound held the Cardinals to only one hit in the win.

The duo walked three and struck out six with Shell getting the win.

Tyshawn Davis took the loss on the mound for the Cardinals as he allowed six runs on three hits, walked three and struck out one.

Lane Chavers relieved Davis and allowed three runs on four hits, walked three and struck out nine.

At the plate for the Yankees, Shell was 2-for-3 with a double and Dakota Graves was 1-for-3 with a homerun.

Bryce Booker was 1-for-3 and Colton Morris was 1-for-2. Andrew Langham was 1-for-1 with a double in the win.

Marcus Simmons had the lone hit for the Cardinals, as he was 1-for-2 in the loss. The Cardinals made three errors in the loss while the Yankees made one.
