Brewton Little League softball teams split

In recent Brewton Little League softball games, the teams shared the love with four different teams picking up wins.

The Red Hots took down the Riptide 13-7 while the Racers defeated Flomaton No. 1, 15-7.

The Heat followed with a 20-7 win over the Thunder while the Thunder then turned around and defeated the Force 17-8.

Red Hots 13, Riptide 7

Despite having two inside-the-park homeruns and striking out eight at the plate, the Riptide lost to the Red Hots 13-7.

Tavonteva Watson smacked a triple in the third inning and then smashed an inside-the-park homerun in the fourth to lead the Red Hots in the win.

Mallori Floyd took the loss for the Riptide, despite fanning eight at the plate. Floyd and Anna Britton led the Riptide with each having an inside-the-park homerun.

Racers 15,

Flomaton No. 1 7

The Racers stingy defense, good pitching, and an off night of pitching by the visiting Lady Canes, helped the Racers beat Flomaton No. 1 15-7.

Myria Reiss led the Racers with a double and a single with Kaitlyn Dees also getting a hit in the win. Smith got the lone hit for the Lady Canes

Heat 20, Thunder 7

Despite having only one hit, the Heat took advantage of a rough night on the mound from the Thunder and walloped the Thunder 20-7.

Mary Alice Peace and Amelia Peach shut the Thunder down from the mound allowing just three hits and striking out five and walking five.

Kelsey Day, Steely Ruzic, Jessica Day, and Nat Clayton combined for the loss giving up 24 walks.

Taylor Austin had the lone hit for the Heat.

Jessica Day went 2-for-2 for the Thunder, sending a shot into right field for an inside-the-park homerun. Shanika Tinker added a hard double and drove in three RBI’s, for the Heat.

Thunder 17, Force 8

The Thunder used a five-hit, 10 RBI, 13-run first inning to cruise by the Force 17-8.

Shanika Tinker blasted her third homerun of the season, driving in three runs, and Jessica Day had two hits and two RBIs.

Molly Jackson smacked a triple and drove in three runs, with Lizzy Pollitte having the other hit and two RBIs while crossing the plate three times.

Morgan Manning, Erin Wade, and Laci Campbell had a hit apiece for the Force, with Wade and Campbell having two RBIs each.
