EB teams take league titles

In the final regular season games of the 2010 East Brewton Little League Thursday, the Cardinals, Yankees, and Dodgers all claimed wins to improve their records.

With the wins for the Dodgers and Yankees, the Dodgers claimed the 9-10 league championship with a 6-5 win over the Red Sox and the Yankees downed the Flomaton Braves 6-4 in the 11-12 league to win their championship.

In the other game to end the season, the Cardinals scored 15 runs to Flomaton Red Sox’s 15-3 to win by 12.

EB Dodgers 6, Red Sox 5

In the 9-10 championship game, the Dodgers defeated the Red Sox 6-5.

Jeremy Sims earned the win on the mound for the Dodgers allowing two runs on five hits, walked three and struck out seven.

Brandon Moye earned the save as he allowed three runs on one hit, walked one and struck out one.

Aaron Bosarge and Stephen Summerlin pitched for the Red Sox in the loss with Bosarge being the pitcher of record.

The two allowed six runs on four hits, walked four and struck out seven.

At the plate for the Dodgers, Moye was 1-for-2 along with Sims and Hayden Winchester was 2-for-3.

For the Red Sox, Patrick Lovelace was 1-for-3 and Kristian Taylor was 2-for-2 with a double.

Matt Hutchins was 1-for-2 with a triple and Eddie Taylor was 2-for-3.

Yankees 6,

Flomaton Braves 4

Colton Morris struck out 10 Braves and along with Dalton Shell and Blake McGraw the trio allowed four runs on eight hits and walked none as the Yankees defeated the Braves 6-4.

Morris allowed two runs on five hits and Shell allowed tow runs on two hits in the win. McGraw allowed one hit.

At the plate, Dakota Graves was 2-for-3 with a triple and Morris was 2-for-2 with a double.

Shell and McGraw were both 1-for-2.

For the Braves of Flomaton, Hayden Hammond took the loss on the mound allowing six runs on six hits, walked none and struck out eight.

Hammond, Mason Dunsford, and Seth Egee were all 1-for-3 with Egee having a double.

Logan Hendrick was 2-for-3 and Brent Hollington was 1-for-2 along with Hannah Fillmore and Christian Roye.

EB Cardinals 15,

Flomaton Red Sox 3

The Cardinals finished out their season on a winning streak with a 15-3 win over the Red Sox.

Lane Chavers earned the win on the mound allowing three runs on six hits, walked none and struck out seven.

Kevin Gumapac, John Hendricks, and Tyler Weaver all pitched in the loss for the Red Sox allowing 15 runs on 10 hits, walked eight and struck out six.

For the Cardinals batting, Chavers was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a triple.

Harley Fuqua was 2-for-4 and Derrick Barton was 1-for-3.

Marcus Simmons was 2-for-2 while Tyshawn Davis was 1-for-2 and Malcolm Hawthorne was 1-for-1.

For the Red Sox, Matthew Ledford was 2-for-3 with a double and Josh Fields was 1-for-2 with a double.

Gumapac was 1-for-2 with a double and Weaver and Hendricks were both 1-for-2.
