Elizabeth Riley ‘China’ Jackson

Mrs. Ellizabeth Riley ‘China’ Jackson, 87, died Monday, May 17, 2010. She spent many years as a caregiver and she was preceded in death by her parents, Abe and Dorothy Riley; her husband, Richard Jackson; her sister, Eulean Autry; her brothers, Caleb Riley and Obadiah Riley; and a nephew, Caleb Riley Jr.

She is survived by a nephew, John (Patsy) Riley of Albuquerque, N.M.; three nieces, Sarah Mason of Brewton, Rebecca (James) Morris of Long Island, N.Y. and Elizabeth Riley of Detroit, Mich.; an adopted niece, Oppie Riley of Montgomery; a first cousin, Norvie Newberry and family of Los Angeles, Calif.; two friends, Lillie Dexter and Elvary Lyde, both of Brewton; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 25, at 2 p.m. at Mount Zion A.M.E. Church in Brewton with the Rev. Daniel Dozier officiating. Burial followed at Baptist Hill Cemetery with Presley-Fluker officiating.
