Officers with the Brewton Police Department and the department’s Narcotics Division are responsible for seven arrests in two separate cases during the past week.

According to Narcotic’s Division Director Bryan Davis, officers arrested five individuals after the execution of a search warrant at a residence at 313 East St. last week.

Just before 8 p.m. on June 8, agents with the Narcotic’s Division and

Brewton Police officers entered the residence to find four subjects fleeing the residence at the rear of the home, Davis said.

The four were taken into custody along with a fifth subject found inside the home.

Arrested were Deandre McCaster, 18; Michael Peterson, 21; Christopher Bell, 19; John Dixon Jr., 20; and a juvenile.

Agents found marijuana, cocaine, drug paraphernalia and a firearm inside the residence.

McCaster, Peterson, Bell and Dixon were all charged with first-degree possession of marijuana; possession of a controlled substance – cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia; and altered identification number on a firearm. The final charge was filed due to the serial numbers of the firearm being removed.

The juvenile was released to his parents following the incident.

In a separate case, a traffic stop performed by Brewton Police Officer Heath Madison resulted in the arrest of two Evergreen residents.

Robby Everette Price Sr., and Annette Jordan Garcia were taken into custody after Madison stopped the vehicle on a traffic violation on Douglas Avenue just before 1 a.m. on June 10.

Davis said Madison reported that he observed the vehicle crossing the center and fog line several times as he monitored the vehicle.

Madison performed an investigation and suspected Price to be driving under the influence of a controlled substance. When a search of the vehicle was performed, Madison discovered Oxycodone and Alprazolam, both a controlled substance, inside the vehicle. Since neither subject had a prescription for the medication, both were placed under arrest.

Garcia was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance – Oxycodone and Alprazolam.

Price was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance – Oxycodone and Alprazolam and driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

All seven subjects arrested were transported to the Escambia County

Detention Center where they were booked on charges filed against them.

Garcia and Price were released on $5,000 bond each. Bell, McCaster, Dixon and Peterson were each held on $25,000 bond.
