Will it ever end?

Shhhhhhhhhhhhh! Do you hear that?

It is the Jeopardy theme song I have playing in my head.

Why you ask?

Will the NBA basketball season ever end?

The NBA season begins in late October and as of right now, mid June, we still have one more game left to determine a champion.

The NBA regular season is about 82 games long. Guess what? If the 2010 NBA Finals goes a full seven games, 61 days  is how many days it will have taken to complete the 2010 NBA Playoffs with the playoffs starting April 17.

With last night’s win by Lakers to even the series at 3-3 with the Celtics, the playoffs itself will last exactly two months.

All four rounds of the playoffs are best-of-seven games. That means that the winner of the series will have to win four games before advancing to the next round.

If I had things my way, I would start with the first round being a best-of-three, then best-of-five, and then the conference finals and NBA finals being both best-of-seven games.

While we are talking about the NBA finals…lets go Celtics.

Until we meet again here or out in the world of sports, God bless.
