Mr. Robert Lester Edwards, 60, died Sunday, June 27, 2010, in a Monroeville hospital. He was a member of the Philadelphia Baptist Church and an active member of Hog Wild for Jesus and Southern Cruisers. He had been with Alabama River Pulp for 33 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Lester L. Edwards.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Edwards, his mother, Marjorie Phelps Edwards; three sons, Robert (Casey) Edwards and James Edwards, both of North Carolina, and Jason (Amber) Tomlinson of Excel; two daughters, Brandi (Jonathan) Haddox of Mexia, and Maggie (Ben) Tuberville of Peterman; a brother, Billy Edwards of Hinesville, Ga.; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 30, at 10 a.m. at Monroe Chapel Funeral Home with Brother Jimmy Hicks and the Rev. Dorsey McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Monroe Chapel Cemetery with Monroe Chapel Funeral Home directing.
