Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. today for the primary runoff.

One local race is on the ballot, the Democratic runoff for Escambia County School Board District 4. Stephanie Agerton and Bo Brantley were the top two vote-getters in that race.

Also on the Democratic ballot is the runoff for attorney general nominee, between James Anderson and Giles Perkins.

The most hotly contested race on the ballot may be the Republican gubernatorial primary between Bradley Byrne and Robert Bentley. Bentley has been leading in polls recently, but Byrne, who visited Brewton Friday, said he believes he has the momentum.

“This primary campaign has been a wonderful experience for the Byrne familym” Byrne said in a statement Sunday. “We are eager to move forward with this election, so we can get further down to the business of moving Alabama forward with conservative leadership and honest government. I’m proud of our campaign and its consistent focus on Alabama’s potential for greatness, despite relentless attacks by those who prefer to hold Alabama back. And I cannot adequately express my gratitude to the thousands of supporters who have believed in us all the way and have refused to back down. We have been blessed to share this journey with so many fine Alabamians; and we look forward to more great days ahead.”
