Lloyd R. Cottrell

Lloyd R. Cottrell, 77, of Brewton, died Monday, July 19, 2010, with his loving wife, Yvonne, by his side.

Lloyd was a native of Hampton, Ark., and a resident of Brewton. He retired after 37 years with Smurfit-Stone Container Corporation where he was a master electrician.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and PaPa.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved watching football. He will be remembered by family and friends for his gentleness, kindness, devotion and love for his family. Lloyd loved the Lord and served Him faithfully as a member of Alco Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Yvonne Cottrell; his sons, Danny (Karen) Cottrell, of Brewton, and Ronnie (Jean)Cottrell, of Irvington,; brother,

Leonard (Christa) Cottrell, of Saraland; four grandchildren, Kevin

Cottrell, Meredith Cottrell Majors, Tim Cottrell and Daniel Cottrell; one great-grandchild, Hannah Cottrell; and one special sister-in-law, Laverne Rawson and nephew, Jason Rawson.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home Brewton, Alabama.

Funeral Services are scheduled for Thursday morning July 22, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Yuhasz and Rev. Jack Fitts officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery in Brewton with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Brewton directing.
