William Angus Mason

Mr. William Angus Mason, 95, died Saturday, July 31, 2010, in a local nursing facility after a brief illness. He was a native and long time resident of Excel, before moving to Brewton in 1956. He was a member of Brewton First United Methodist Church, a U.S. Navy veteran and retired from Watson-Engish Hardware. He was preceded in death by a sister, Vida Bass.

He is survived by his wife, Truby Nation Mason of Brewton; two daughters, Linda (Richard) McEwan of Brewton and Phebe Lee of Mobile; a grandson, Phillip McEwan; four step-grandchildren; 15 step-great-grandchildren and five step-great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 3, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Brewton First United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 4, at 2 p.m. at Brewton First United Methodist Church with Dr. Ed Glaize officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
