Mrs. Mary Lee Snider Ellis, 87, of Jernigan Road, died Monday August 9, 2010 at her residence after a brief illness. She was a native of Monroe County and a life long resident of Brewton. She was a member of Catawba Springs Baptist Church and a retired historian from Escambia County Historical Society/McMillan Family. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Raymond “J.R.” Ellis and two sons, John David Ellis and William Richard Ellis.

She is survived by a son, Bob (Lynne) Ellis of Brewton; four grandchildren, Brian Richard Ellis, Mary Joelle Diurno, Heather Renee Beasley and Ryan Tyler Ellis; three great-grandchildren, Sidney Diurno, Bailey Ellis and Mackenna Ellis.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 11, from 1- 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, August 11 at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Elder Wayne Ellis and the Rev. Jeff Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Springs Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
