Robert Eugene Hawthorne

Mr. Robert Eugene Hawthorne, 62, died Friday, Aug. 13, 2010 in Flomaton. He was a native of Pensacola, Fla., a former resident of Jay, Fla., and a resident of Flomaton for the past 28 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his father, Horace Hawthorne; a son, Ladon Raines Hawthorne; a grandson, Logan Cade Hawthorne; a brother, Roy Hawthorne and a sister, Frances Lail.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta Hawthorne of Flomaton; three sons, Chance (Kim) Hawthorne, Camaron (Amanda) Hawthorne and Chris (Kim) Griffin, all of Flomaton; a daughter, Amanda (Wesley) Patterson of Flomaton; his mother, Louise Allen of Jay, Fla.; six grandchildren, two brothers, Kenny Wayne (Pam) Hawthorne of Flomaton, and Larry (Treasa) Hawthorne of Evergreen; three sisters, Mary Carden of Pace, Fla., Linda (Martin) Kealer of Pensacola, Fla., and Sander (Doyal) Moore of Jay; and a sister-in-law, Patricia Hawthorne of Daphne.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 15, at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Carnley officiating. Burial followed at Flomaton Cemetery with military honors. The pallbearers were Chad Robbins, Karl Eilenstein, Michael Lail, Timothy Lail, Chase Murphy, Wayne Hawthorne, Damon Poole and Travis Poole.
