Ila Fay Cumbie

Mrs. Ila Fay Cumbie, 79, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010, at a Century, Fla., care center. She was a native of the Moyeville community and was a resident of Flomaton since 1982 when she returned from Spanish Fort. She worked at the Minute Stop for many years and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed Rufus and Minnie Lee Roberson Knowles; her husband of 29 years, Andrew Judson Cumbie; and her sisters, Alma Lois Knowles, Doris Stewart and Hazel Thomas.

She is survived by a daughter, Andrea (Philllip) Boutwell of Flomaton; her granddaughter, Shea Leann Beasley of Flomaton; her brothers, Huey (Gwin) Knowles of Flomaton, and Jack Knowles of Stanley Cross Road, Brewton; a sister, Alphy (Howard) Smith of East Brewton; and many other friends and family members.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Aug. 29, from 1 to 3 p.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, Aug. 29, at 3 p.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. David Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Travelers Rest Cemetery, Flomaton, with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers will be Richie Thomas, Scottie Stewart, Edwin Knowles, David Thomas, Eddie Ferguson and Stan Cumbie.
