Mr. Ramon Gilbert West Sr.,76, died Sunday September 12, 2010 at his residence in Wallace, where he had been a resident since 1984. He was a native of Cottage Hill, Fla. He was of the Baptist faith , had served in the U.S. Army, worked as a dairyman and farmer, and retired as a truck driver. He was preceded in death by his father, George Gilbert West; two sisters, a daughter and a grandson.

He is survived by his mother, Cynthia Ann West of Pensacola; his wife of 29 years, Martha (Blair) West of Wallace; one brother, John David West Sr. of Pensacola; two sons, Ramon (Josie) West Jr. of Pensacola, and Steven (Gina) Lawson of North Carolina; four daughters, Cindy (Ken) Boyd, Lindi (Tom) Lathrop, and Tami (Kenneth) Shelby, all of Pensacola, and Lisa (Billy) Castillow of Brewton; 16 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held Wednesday morning September 15, from 9 until 10 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, September 15, at 10 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Clifton Buchannan officiating. Interment will follow in Cooper Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
