W.S. Neal’s JV volleyball improved their record Thursday on the road at Flomaton while the varsity Lady Eagles lost.

The JV Lady Eagles won 2-1 over the Lady Hurricanes to improve to 6-1 while the varsity Lady Eagles lost 3-0 to drop to 3-6.

In the JV game, Gracee Dixon led with 16 service points, four kills, and two assists while Marissa White had 10 service points and four assists.

“We had a lot of issues with controlling our passes in the first set and we did not play together as a team,” Lady Eagle head coach Britney Shelly said. “In sets two and three, we had more teamwork and enthusiasm which helped keep us focused on our goal which was to win the game. Overall we looked ok and it was a good win for us.”

In the varsity loss, Whitney Douglas led with 17 service points, two blocks, and six kills while Amanda Crawford had 12 service points, two blocks, and seven kills. Malary Booker had 10 service points and four assists.

“We played much better tonight than we have in a long time,” Shelly said. “We hustled and worked together as a team. I am proud of the way we played even though we could not pull out the win.”
