Bruce Jefferson ‘Pete’ Blair

Mr. Bruce Jefferson ‘Pete’ Blair, 76, died Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010 at his residence on Ridge Road after a brief illness. He was a native and life long resident of Escambia County, Ala. He was of the Church of Christ faith, worked at T.R. Miller Mill Company for many years and retired from Escambia County as an equipment operator. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maebelle Johnson Blair and a sister, Lillie Mae Buckhault.

He is survived by a daughter, Susie Blair (Ronald) Allen of Brewton; three brothers, James Red Blair of Castleberry, and Bill J. Blair and Estie Blair, both of Brewton; five sisters, Shirley Jean Allen, Mattie Mae Brantley, Nellie Ann Campbell, Ruthie Bell Mitchell and Ester Mae Blair, all of Brewton; five grandchildren, Tisha (Johnny Braddock) Madden, Brandy (Chris) Jones, Stephanie (Mario) Mendibles, Christopher (Rea) Allen and Eddie Madden; 10 great-grandchildren, Americus Madden, Angel Madden, Austin Madden, Ashton Madden, Alexandria Jones, Aden Mendibles, Ethan Mendibles, Brody Allen, Heather Braddock, and Johnatan Braddock.

Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Minister Clifford Dixon officiating. Burial followed at Cooper Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
