Mrs. Martha Gwendolyn Sawyer, 75, died Oct. 18, 2010, at Evergreen Medical Center. She was a native of Montgomery and a resident of Castleberry. She had been an LPN and worked at Brewton and Evergreen hospitals.

She is survived by her husband, Austin Jerome Sawyer of Sandcut; seven sons, Henry Brown of Bay Minette, Clark Brown, Marty Sawyer and Edward Sawyer, all of Castleberry, Maurice Brown Jr. of Traverse City, Mich., John Sawyer of Evergreen and Keith Sawyer of Brewton; a daughter, Lenora Sawyer of Louisiana and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, Oct. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cope Funeral Home in Evergreen.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 23, at 10 a.m. at London Baptist Church near Castleberry and burial will follow at the church cemetery with Cope Funeral Home directing.
