Gerald Dees Fuqua

Mr. Gerald Dees Fuqua, 73, of Brewton, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010 in a local hospital after a brief illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Brewton. He was of the Protestant Faith. He owned and operated the Fuqua Catfish Ponds on U.S. 29, and he was a Heavy Equiptment Operator for Escambia County. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ellis Fuqua; a sister, Sue Frazier; and step grandchildren, Wayne Terry and Ronnie Terry.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Terry Fuqua of Brewton; two sons, Terry (Angie) Fuqua of Brewton, and Larry (Shelly) Fuqua of East Brewton; two stepsons, Richard (Darlene) Terry of East Brewton, and Ronald Terry of Phenix City, Fla.; a daughter, Gerrie Sue (Mickey) Gauntey of West Palm Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Jean Hoomes of East Brewton, and Jackie Moats of Flordia Keys; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Oct. 27, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 27, at 12 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Scurlock officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Crawford Cemetery in East Brewton, with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
