John Jacob Wilson

Mr. John Jacob Wilson, 93, of Jay Road died Sunday, October 31, 2010 in a local nursing facility after a brief illness. He was a native of Chilton County and a long time resident of Brewton. He was of the Baptist faith, served on the city council of Riverview for several years and retired from T.R. Miller Mill Company with 36 years of service. He was a retired custodian from W.S. Neal High School with 17 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, B.F. and Carey Bell Wilson; his wife of 50 years, Mary Ethel Wilson and a son, Perry Lamar Wilson.

He is survived by two sons, John (Sandi) Wilson of East Brewton and Larry (Ann) Wilson of Bay Minette; two daughters, Mae (John) Calhoun of Brewton and Kathy (Richard) Gerber of Dothan; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a cousin, Sybil (Ford) Poe and a special friend, Mae Nelson.

Visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, November 2, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Scott officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
