Wilson “Pete” Sheffield

Mr. Wilson “Pete” Sheffield, 75, died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010 at a local hospital after a brief illness. He was a native of Purdue Hill and a long time resident of East Brewton. He attended Divine Temple Church, was a U.S. Army veteran, and was retired from the oil fields. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty McLain Sheffield; a brother, Ray Sheffield; a grandchild, Jody Romero; and his parents, Raymond and Annie Laura Sheffield.

He is survived by a son, Jim (Linda) McLain of Bailey Island, S.C.; two daughters, Debby (J.R.) Macks of Flomaton, and Pat Woods of Nettleton, Miss.; four sisters, Mary Madsen, Gladys Frederick, and Laura Barrickman, all of Brewton, and Beth Pittman of Maplesville; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Greer officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Crawford Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
