WSNMS boys basketball gets win

While the W.S. Neal Middle School boys basketball team picked up their first win Tuesday, the Lady Eagles remained winless as they lost to Flomaton Middle School at home.

The W.S. Neal Middle School boys team won 25-22 over the Hurricanes while the Lady Eagles lost 35-11.

The loss for the Lady Eagles dropped them to 0-4 while the boys improved to 1-3.

W.S. Neal MS boys 25, Flomaton 22

Trailing 16-13 heading into the final quarter Monday, W.S. Neal outscored Flomaton 12-6 in the fourth quarter to win by three points, 25-22.

W.S. Neal trailed 5-1 after the first quarter and 9-7 at halftime as they outscored Flomaton 6-4 in the second quarter.

In the third quarter, Flomaton edged out W.S. Neal 7-6 to hold the three-point lead before W.S. Neal held a six-point advantage in the fourth quarter to get the win.

Trey Taylor led W.S. Neal with 13 points and D.J. Hodges added seven points. Malcolm Hawthorne, Quantae Barksdale and Rob Jones all had two points each in the win.

Flomaton 35, W.S. Neal MS Lady Eagles 11

Flomaton held W.S. Neal to 11 points while scoring 35 to keep the Lady Eagles winless at 0-4.

Flomaton held a 6-3 lead after the first quarter and used a 10-1 advantage in the second quarter to take a 16-4 lead at the half.

In the third quarter, the Lady Canes outscored W.S. Neal 11-2 to take a 27-6 lead and outscored W.S. Neal 8-5 in the fourth to get the win by 24 points.

KiKi Floyd and Morgan Madden both had five points each and Alyssa English had one point in the loss.
