All three W.S. Neal basketball teams lost on the road at Excel last week. The Eagle B-team lost their first game of the season 43-28 to start the season 0-1 while the Lady Eagles suffered their first loss 39-25 to drop their record to 1-1.
In varsity action, the Eagles dropped to 0-2 with a 51-39 loss to the Panthers.
W.S. Neal’s boys were set to play in the Flomaton Thanksgiving tournament this week and will return to normal action Tuesday, Nov. 30 at Flomaton at 4:30 p.m.

Excel 43, W.S. Neal B-team 28
Leading 16-15 at halftime, W.S. Neal was outscored 28-13 in the second half to lose by 14 points, 43-29.
The Eagles led 9-3 after the first quarter and 16-15 at the half after being outscored 12-7 in the second quarter.
The Eagles trailed 30-23 after the third quarter after the Panthers outscored the Eagles 15-7 in the third. In the fourth, Excel outscored W.S. Neal 13-6 to lose by 14.
Trevor Burns led with 16 points in the loss and Zack Haveard followed with six points. Malik Williams added three points and Terrell Smith and Devin Stallworth both had two points.

Excel 39, W.S. Neal Lady Eagles 25
The Lady Eagles of W.S. Neal suffered their first loss of the season to the Panthers of Excel as they dropped a 39-25 decision to fall to 1-1.
Excel led 9-3 after the first quarter and 18-10 at the half following a 9-7 advantage in the second quarter. In the third quarter, both teams scored nine points each as Excel carried a 27-19 lead into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, W.S. Neal scored six points to Excel’s 12 to get the 14-point win.
Keyvonnia Kyles led W.S. Neal with 13 points followed by Tiana Smith with six points, Megan Andrews with three points, Angelique Askew with two points and Shapashaun Lane with one point.

Excel 51, W.S. Neal varsity 39
The W.S. Neal Eagle varsity team remained winless as they lost to the Panthers by 12 points, 51-39.
Excel led 13-6 after the first quarter and 24-23 at the half following a 17-11 Eagle advantage in the quarter.
Excel added to their lead in the third quarter as they outscored W.S. Neal 15-11 to hold a 39-34 lead heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, Excel ended the game on a 12-5 run to win 51-39.
Jalen Harrod and Rashod Taylor led with eight points and Montrel Banks added seven.
Josiah Nettles had six points and Austin Dixon had five points. Dalton Evans chipped in fourth points and Kenny Kiser had one point.
