TRM B-team and varsity fall to Atmore Tuesday, Lady Tigers win

The T.R. Miller B-team and varsity teams both took losses in their first games of the season Tuesday in Atmore while the Lady Tigers ended their losing streak with a win.
The B-team Tigers lost 46-18 to start the season 0-1 while the Lady Tigers improved to 2-2 with a 59-22 win over the Lady Blue Devils.
In varsity action, the Tigers started the season 0-1 with a 65-32 loss.
All T.R. Miller teams will be back in action Monday as they take on the Hillcrest Jaguars beginning at 4:30 p.m. in Brewton.

Escambia County 46, T.R. Miller B-team 18
In their first game of the season Tuesday in Atmore, the T.R. Miller Tiger B-team lost to Escambia County 46-18.
T.R. Miller found themselves in an early hole after the first quarter as they trailed 11-3 and 24-10 at the half following a 13-7 Blue Devil advantage in the second quarter.
In the third quarter, Atmore held T.R. Miller to four points while posting 13 to take a 37-14 lead into the fourth.
In the fourth, the Blue Devils finished off the Tigers with a 9-4 advantage to get the win by 28 points.
Caleb Hubbard led T.R. Miller with five points and Dominique Jackson and Caden Lodge both had four points in the loss.
Shawn Tolbert added three points and Aaron Yuhasz had two.

T.R. Miller Lady Tigers 59, Escambia County 22
The Lady Tigers of T.R. Miller got back on the winning track Tuesday after losing two games as they defeated Escambia County 59-22 to improve to 2-2.
The Lady Tigers jumped out to a big lead in the first quarter to hold an 18-7 lead after one quarter of play. In the second quarter, the Lady Tigers outscored the Blue Devils 15-7 to hold a 33-14 lead at the half.
In the third quarter, T.R. Miller held an 11-4 lead to take a 44-18 lead into the fourth quarter. In the fourth, T.R. Miller ended the game on a 15-4 run to get the win by 37 points.
The Lady Tigers had three scorers in double figures with Courtney Jones having 19 points, Sha Kiser with 18 and Leah Brundidge with 14.
Brittany Rush, Adrian Gibbs, Diamond Middleton, and Lateysia Montgomery all had two points in the win for the Lady Tigers.

Escambia County 65, T.R. Miller varsity 32
Also in the their first game and first game under new head boys coach Ron Jackson, who also coaches the girls, T.R. Miller fell to 0-1 with a 65-32 loss to the Blue Devils.
In the first half of play for the Tigers, T.R. Miller struggled on offense as they scored only five points in the first quarter and five points in the second quarter while Atmore scored 17 in the first and 19 in the second to lead 36-10 at the half.
In the second half, T.R. Miller was outscored 13-10 in the third quarter to trail 49-20 heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, the Tigers were outscored 16-12 to lose by 33 points.
Kori Jackson led T.R. Miller with 12 points in the loss and Mark Bryant added 11 points. Devonte Jones had three points and Caleb Dickey and Antonio Payne both had two points. Kameron Winn chipped in one point in the Tigers loss along with Jaquan Dewberry.
