Mr. Robert Floyd Thompson, 81, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, at D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Thompson was a native and life long resident of the Brewton area. He founded and operated Southern Pest Control for 35 years until his retirement. In his free time he enjoyed quail and dove hunting with his sons. Mr. Thompson was a member of Brewton First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mrs. Linda Thompson; five sons, Ronald Floyd (Becky) Thompson, John Ricky Thompson, Roger Neal Thompson, Michael R. Thompson, and Jimmy Randell Thompson, all of Brewton; two sisters, Willie Merle Mathis of Pensacola, Betty Cooley of Milton; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Craver’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack Fitts and the Rev. Ron Headley officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Craver’s Funeral Home on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
