Mazie Luverne Pugh Gay

Mrs. Mazie Luverne Pugh Gay, 86, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010. She was a native of the Appleton Community and had resided at West Gate Village the last 3 1/2 years. She was a member of the Macedonia Holiness Church, had been employed at Vanity Fair and was a district sales manager with Stanley Corporation for over 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gay; a son, Ronald Gay; a brother, Alvin Pugh and a sister, Carolyn Pugh Moses.
She is survived by four sons, Wayne (Linda) Gay of Butler, Tenn.; James (Jacquelyn) Gay and Don Guy, both of Brewton, and Wendell (C.J.) Gay of Alabaster; five granddaughters, Brenda Gay Hatter, Adrienne Gay Provost, Lisa Gay Greer, Laura Gay Craig and Trista Gay; and three great-grandchildren, Gracie Greer, Xavier Provost and Sebastian Provost and siblings, Bernice Pugh Baker, Horace Pugh and Ardell Pugh Hammac.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, Jan. 4, at noon at Williams Memorial Chapel followed by a service at p.m. with the Rev. Homer Stewart officiating. Burial will be at Weaver Cemetery.
