Two weeks and one day: That is the length of time since the W.S. Neal Lady Eagle and varsity Eagle basketball teams last played a basketball game with the B-team’s layoff being just seven days short of one month.
That layoff showed Tuesday night at home as all three teams lost to Jackson. All three Jackson teams outscored W.S. Neal by a total of 104 points, 174-70.
The B-team Eagles lost 38-16 to fall to 0-8 while the Lady Eagles lost 55-22 to suffer their 11th straight loss and drop to 1-11. The varsity Eagles lost 81-32 to drop their record to 3-12.
The games with Jackson were area games as W.S. Neal fell to 0-2 in the area.
The Eagles will take on Satsuma Friday night on the road at 4:30 p.m. and will be in action Saturday at home against T.R. Miller also at 4:30 p.m.

Jackson 38, WSN B-team 16
An 11:06 scoring drought for the Eagle B-team was the key to the game as Jackson built an early 13-0 lead and cruised to a 22-point win, 38-16.
The Eagles failed to score in the first quarter of the game as the Aggies rolled to a 9-0 lead after one quarter of play.
Jackson then held a 13-0 lead with 4:14 left in the second quarter before Zack Haveard scored the first points of the game for the Eagles with 54 seconds left before the half.
The two points by Haveard were the only points of the first half while Jackson held a 15-2 lead at the break.
In the third quarter, Jackson held a 21-4 lead with 3:24 before the Eagles went on an 8-0 run to cut the lead to 21-12 with a 10-6 Eagle advantage in the third quarter.
In the fourth, Jackson outscored W.S. Neal 17-4 to get the big win.
W.S. Neal shot 4-of-12 from the free throw line in the loss while Jackson was 1-for-4.
Trevor Burns led W.S. Neal with nine points and Devin Stallworth added three points. Haveard and Nick Straiton both chipped in two points in the Eagle loss.

Jackson 55, WSN Lady Eagles 22
The W.S. Neal Lady Eagles fell to runs of 7-0, 14-0, and 17-0 by the Jackson Lady Aggies to take a 33-point loss Tuesday night.
The Lady Eagles scored the first point of the game Tuesday but then the first run by Jackson gave them a 7-1 lead with 5:56 left in the first quarter and a 14-6 lead after the first quarter.
In the first quarter, W.S. Neal trailed 9-6 with 2:18 left only to see the Lady Aggies go on a 14-0 run to lead 23-6 with 5:01 left in the second quarter.
Jackson would go on and hold a 23-11 lead at halftime.
In the third quarter, Jackson opened the quarter on a 17-0 run to turn a 12-point lead into a 29-point lead at 40-11 with 52 seconds left in the third.
W.S. Neal would end the run with three points in the final seconds to cut the lead to 40-14 heading into the fourth quarter.
In the fourth, Jackson outscored the Eagles 15-8 to get the win.
W.S. Neal shot 4-for-18 from the free throw line while Jackson shot 13-of-39.
Keyvonnia Kyles led the Lady Eagles with 16 points. Megan Andrews had three points and Jasmine Crook had two points. Angelique Askew had one point in the loss.

Jackson 81, WSN varsity 32
The W.S. Neal varsity Eagles succumbed to a 28-0 run against the Jackson Aggies to suffer a 49-point loss, 81-32.
The Eagles and Aggies were tied at 2-2 with 4:45 left in the first quarter until the Aggies went on a 28-0 run over the first and second quarter and held the Eagles without a basket for 7:36 to cruise to the win.
Jackson held a 24-2 lead after the first quarter of play and outscored W.S. Neal 20-5 in the second quarter to lead by 37 points at the half, 44-7.
The Aggies had a stretch in the first quarter where they hit four straight three pointers to turn an 11-2 lead with 2:37 left in the quarter into a 23-2 lead with 43 seconds left.
In the third quarter, the Eagles were outscored 18-8 as Jackson increased their lead by 10 points to 62-15.
In the fourth and final quarter, the Aggies edged out the Eagles 19-17 to get the win.
W.S. Neal shot 4-for-9 from the free throw line in the defeat while the Aggies were 9-for-17.
Dalton Evans led W.S. Neal with 12 points and Josiah Nettles with six points. Donovan Millican and Montrel Banks added five points each and Austin Dixon and Hudson Brown both had two points each for the Eagles in the loss.
