Habitat partners with Pizza Hut

Pepperoni and cheese may be the best building blocks for the Escambia County Habitat for Humanity’s next fundraising effort set for Jan. 17.
Pizza Hut restaurants in Brewton, Flomaton and Atmore will be partnering with ECHFH to help raise funds used to build and renovate homes for families throughout the county.
HFH Board President Amanda Hines said the event is a new venture for the group and could be a great benefit to the organization.
“We hope this event will get wide participation,” Hines said. “Now that we have expanded to not only do building, but also remodeling, we will be doing more work. That means we will need more funds. Our hope is to do so well at this event that we will do it again.”
The process is simple and each purchase will benefit the HFH with a percentage of proceeds from the evening’s sales going directly to the organization. The customary charges for pizza or other menu items will be in place for the event with customers seeing no change in pricing.
“Pizza hut will total their sales and we will get a portion of the total,” Hines said. “We get 10 percent for up to $299 in sales; 15 percent for $300 to $599; and 20 percent for more than $600 in sales. We just need people to come on down to the Pizza Hut in Brewton, Atmore and Flomaton with their tickets. The more tickets they get back, the more funding we can get.”
Each patron who wants a portion of the sales receipts must present a special ticket designating Escambia County Habitat for Humanity as the charitable organization to receive the funds.
Tickets can be obtained at the Greater Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce. The tickets can be duplicated and distributed. Tickets must be presented at the time of order between 5:30 and 9 p.m. on Jan. 17 at any of the three Pizza Hut locations participating in the event.
