Mrs. JoAnn Thomas Steele, 53, of Thomas Road, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011 in a Pensacola, Fla., hospital after a brief illness. She was a native and long time resident of Brewton. She was of the Holiness faith and a beautician. She was preceded in death by her father, Claude Thomas Jr., and a brother, Ed Mack Thomas.

She is survived by her mother, Annie Laura Thomas of Brewton, a son, Rusty (Brooke) Steele of Jay, Fla.; a daughter, Amanda Steele of Nashville, Tenn.; two brothers, Roy (Paula) Thomas of Jay, and Mike (Gena) Thomas of Brewton; and two granddaughters, Brynn Burgess and Ansley Steele.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 19, at 2 p.m.. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Fredrick Barrow officiating. Burial will follow at Edendale Church Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
