The 2011 AHSAA area basketball tournament pairings have been set.
Girls area tournaments are set to begin Monday, Feb. 7 with the regular season area champions hosting.
Boys area tournaments will begin Tuesday, Feb. 8 also at the home of regular season area champions.
T.R. Miller’s girls will host the 3A area 1 tournament, as they were the area champions with an 8-0 record while the boys will travel to Bayside Academy. The varsity Tigers finished area play with a 1-7 record.
Both the W.S. Neal Lady Eagles and varsity Eagles will travel for their area tournaments.
W.S. Neal’s Lady Eagles finished the regular season area play with a 3-5 record while the boys finished 0-8.
The Lady Eagles will travel to Jackson for their tournament while the varsity Eagles will travel to Hillcrest-Evergreen.

T.R. Miller girls:
The Lady Tigers will host the area 1 tournament beginning Monday, as Excel and Washington County will play at 5 p.m.
The tournament will resume Thursday, Feb. 10 with Bayside Academy and Clarke County playing at 5 p.m. and T.R. Miller playing the Excel-Washington County winner from Monday at 6:30 p.m. The finals will be play at 3 p.m. Saturday in Brewton.

T.R. Miller boys:
The varsity Tigers will travel to Bayside Academy in Daphne and will begin play Tuesday, Feb. 8, against Excel at 6 p.m.
Play will resume Friday as Clarke County and Washington County will play at 6 p.m. and Bayside Academy will play the T.R. Miller-Excel winner at 7:30 p.m.
The finals will be played Monday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m.

W.S. Neal girls:
The Lady Eagles will play their area tournament at Jackson.
Monroe County and Hillcrest will start the tournament off Monday at 6 p.m.
W.S. Neal will play Thomasville Thursday at 6 p.m. and Jackson will play the winner of Monroe County and Hillcrest at 7:30 p.m.
The winners from Thursday will play in the finals Saturday at 7 p.m.

W.S. Neal boys:
The varsity Eagles will play Monroe County Tuesday, Feb. 8 at 6 p.m. to start the area 2 tournament off in Evergreen at Hillcrest High School.
On Friday, Jackson and Thomasville will play at 6 p.m. with the Jaguars of Hillcrest playing the winner of Monroe County and W.S. Neal at 7:30 p.m.
The finals will be played at 7 p.m. Monday.
The tournaments will be single elimination format.
Winners of the area tournaments will host sub-region games the following week while the area runner-ups will travel to their sub-region opponent.
Winners of sub-regional games will advance to the regionals at the University of South Alabama in Mobile.
Regional winners will advance to the state tournament in Birmingham.
