WSN track competes in first meet Thursday

The W.S. Neal High School track team started their spring season Thursday at Baker High School in Florida.
On the boys side, Marquese Banks led the Eagles in the 100-meter with a time of 11.96 and Josiah Nettles led in the 200-meter race with a time of 24.20.
In the 400-meters, Rickem Samuel led with a time of 1:05 and Taylin Padgett led in the 800-meter race with a time of 3:43.
Thomas McCall ran a time of 5:52 in the 1600-meter race and in the 3200-meter race with a time of 14:01.
The Eagles 4×100-meter team of Kenny Kiser, Jalen Wesley, D.J. Edwards and Nettles ran a time of 51.03 and the 4×400-meter team of Banks, Bryan Brister, Justin Floyd and Samuel ran a time of 5:05.
The 4×800 team of Donald Hardyman, Eric Burgh, Chris Crutchfield and Will Minchew ran a time of 12:11.
Banks led in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 18.33 and Nettles won the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 47.40.
In the shot put, Raheem Taylor had a toss of 33-1.
In girls action, Jasmine crook led W.S. Neal in all events as she had a time of 13.31 in the 100-meters, 28.96 in the 200-meters, and a time of 1:09 in the 400-meters.
The 4×100 team of Khadijah Barton, Kijana Mitchell, Blair Edwards and Crook ran of time of 1:01.70.
Crook also took the shot put with a toss of 24-0 and the discus with a throw of 57-1.
Baker finished first in the meet followed by Pensacola Christian Academy, Jay, Central, W.S. Neal in fifth, and Rocky Bayou in sixth.
