WSNMS baseball gets swept by Flomaton

In a Thursday doubleheader in Flomaton, the W.S. Neal Middle School baseball team was swept to drop their overall record to 3-3.
W.S. Neal lost game one 3-2 and game two 5-2.
The Eagles will be back in action March 12 in a tournament in Thomasville.

Game one: Flomaton 3, WSNMS 2
Leading 2-1 in the final inning, W.S. Neal gave up two runs to Flomaton in the bottom of the fifth inning to lose 3-2.
Flomaton scored first in the game in the bottom of the fourth only to see W.S. Neal plate two runs in the fifth to claim a 2-1 lead. Flomaton’s two runs in the bottom of the inning earned the Hurricanes the win.
TyShawn Davis was 1-for-1 for W.S. Neal in the loss and had both RBIs and a walk.
Colton Morris took the loss on the mound for W.S. Neal as he went the complete game allowing three runs, one earned, four hits, walked one and stuck out three.

Game two: Flomaton 5, WSNMS 2
Flomaton scored four runs in the first inning to help them grab a 5-2 win over W.S. Neal in game two and get the sweep.
W.S. Neal scored one run in the top of the first to grab an early lead, but the four Flomaton runs gave them a 4-1 lead after one inning of play.
W.S. Neal cut the lead to 4-2 with one run in the top of the second, but was held scoreless the remainder of the game while Flomaton would add one more run in the bottom of the third.
Dakota Graves was 1-for-3 and Rob Jones was 1-for-2 with a double. Dalton Shell was 1-for-1.
On the mound for W.S. Neal, Lane Chavers took the loss going 2 1/3 innings allowing four runs, three earned, on four hits, walked and struck out two.
Alex O’Keane went the final 1 2/3 innings allowing one run, one hit, struck out three and hit one.
