The Brewton area is expected to remain under a flash flood watch Wednesday, Escambia County Emergency Management Director David Adams said.

“Most of the rain should be light to moderate, but some strong thunderstorms may be scattered over the area,” he said. “There will be a squall line just ahead of the front that has numerous strong thunderstorms. The front will be slow moving and the thunderstorms will have a tendency train (multiple storms may pass over the same area).

“The most significant threat to our area will be some strong thunderstorms that may produce high winds and produce and occasional tornado. Rainfall totals for our area are expected to be between 2 and 4 inches. Some localized flash flooding may occur.”
