In a doubleheader with Northview Monday in East Brewton, the W.S. Neal JV baseball team tied the Chiefs in both games.
W.S. Neal and Northview tied 0-0 in game one and 3-3 in game two to see their record go to 1-0-2. The two games were scheduled five inning games and after being scoreless after the fifth, one extra inning was played. In the one extra inning, both teams were tied and the games were called.
W.S. Neal was set to play at Excel Tuesday and at home Thursday against Monroe County at 4 p.m.

Game one: WSN JV 0, Northview 0 – 6 innings
In game one between W.S. Neal and Northview, it was a pitching duel between the two teams that helped end the game in a 0-0 tie.
The two teams combined for four hits with both teams having two hits each.
Miles Powell and Gary McGraw were both 1-for-2 for the Eagles’ only hits of the game.
On the mound for the Eagles, McGraw got the start and Cam Blackman pitched in relief.
McGraw went the first two innings allowing no runs, no hits, and no walks while striking out three and hitting one.
Blackman went the final four innings allowing two hits, one walk, and struck out three.

Game two: WSN JV 3, Northview 3 – 6 innings
In game two, the Eagles were held to only two hits again and finished the game with another tie with Northview, 3-3.
Miles Powell was 1-for-1 for the Eagles and Tyler Joyner was 1-for-2 with one RBI.
The Eagles led 1-0 after the first inning and 2-0 after the third inning, but saw Northview score two runs in the top of the fourth to tie the game at 2-2.
W.S. Neal regained the lead with one run in the bottom of the inning, but saw Northview tie the game at 3-3 in the top of the sixth. Neither team would score the remainder of the game as it ended in another tie.
Joyner got the start on the mound for the Eagles and went three innings allowing three hits and struck out three. Jeremy Myers went the final three innings allowing three runs, three hits, walked two and struck out three.
