Amos Ray Monroe Davis

Mr. Amos Ray Monroe Davis, 65, died March 9, 2011 in an area assisted living facility. He was a native of Brewton, and a resident of Gainstown. He worked as an electrician at Boise Paper Mill for 41 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam. He was a member of Jones Chapel Congregational Methodist Church at Perry’s Chapel, Ala.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Fay Davis of Jackson; a son, Chad Ray (Heather) Davis of Tuscaloosa; a daughter, Nina (Bill) Lazenby of Orange Beach; a brother, James Davis of Brewton; a sister, Ann Frazier of Brewton; and a grandchild, Ansleigh Rae Lazenby of Orange Beach.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 11, from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 11, at 1 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson, with the Rev. Bennie Crawford officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Walker Springs with Lathan Funeral Home directing. Active pallbearers will be Tom Shipley, Wayne Jones, Mickey Jones, Keith Davis, Mark Brantley and Charles Gunter
