Davis keys TRM’s area win over Bayside Thursday

The T.R. Miller Tiger baseball team took an 8-0 win over Bayside Thursday night in Daphne to be within one win of making the playoffs.
Tiger pitcher Kevin Davis threw a two-hit shutout against the Admirals and struck out 19 in the win. At one point, Davis (5-0) struck out 10 Bayside hitters in a row.
With the win, T.R. Miller improved their overall record to 12-4 and improved to 4-1 in area play. The Tigers need one win in a doubleheader Friday at home against Bayside to clinch a spot in the playoffs.
With a win Friday, T.R. Miller would own head-to-head wins over area opponents Washington County, Excel and Bayside with games with Clarke County to be played Thursday and Friday for the area championship.
In the win Thursday, Davis had a single and a double with two RBIs and Trent Robinson had an RBI single in the win..
Collin Graves had two hits for the Tigers along with Conner Denton and both had one RBI each.
