In a preseason jamboree Saturday in Pensacola, the Escambia Spartan semi-pro football team played three games and went 1-2.
Each team played three games with each game being a half with a speed clock that did not stop.
The Spartans defeated the Prichard Falcons 6-0, lost to the Santa Rosa Ravens 6-0, and the Panhandle Crusaders 14-0.
Assistant Spartan coach Raj Parmar said the team showed a lot of potential and their defense looked great.
“We need more offensive linemen,” Parmar said. “Our linemen were playing both offense and defense at times. The team could use some more depth in these positions, they were just running out of gas during the last quarter of the third game. We are in want of some more offensive and defensive linemen that have football knowledge and experience.”
The Spartans will begin their season April 30.
