JDCC softball sweeps Alabama Southern, now 18-22 overall

While the Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawk softball team may only be 2-4 in their recent six games, the two wins for JDCC were big conference wins.
After losing doubleheaders to Faulkner State and Wallace State of Dothan, JDCC rebounded with a sweep at Alabama Southern to improve their record to 4-8 in conference play and 18-22 overall.
In other games for JDCC, the Lady Warhawks split with Enterprise losing game one 9-0 and winning game two 6-2.
Tuesday, JDCC was swept by Faulkner 11-3 and 4-1 to fall to 5-11 in conference play and 19-25 overall. Stats from those four games were not available as of press time.
JDCC is set to be back in action Friday at LBW in Andalusia at 2 and 4 p.m.
The Lady Warhawks will play at home Tuesday, April 19, against Alabama Southern at 2 and 4 p.m.
Both games are conference games for the Lady Warhawks.

Faulkner 4, JDCC 0
Faulkner State scored one run in the fourth and three in the sixth while holding JDCC scoreless and to only three hits as they claimed a 4-0 win over the Lady Warhawks.
Elise Schanley was 1-for-3 for JDCC along with Amber Steadham while Danielle McCastle was 1-for-2.
Brittany Linton took the loss on the mound for JDCC pitching six innings and allowing eight hits, four runs, three earned, walked two and struck out none.

Faulkner 17, JDCC 1
In game two, Faulkner used a 10-run second inning and pounded out 14 hits while holding JDCC to one run on two hits to get a 17-1 win.
Schanley was 1-for-2 with a double and McCastle was 1-for-2.
Jessica Myrick, Mallori Armstrong, and Loren McVicker all pitched for the Lady Warhawks going a combined four innings allowing 14 hits, 17 runs, six earned runs, walked three and struck out none.

Wallace State-Dothan 3, JDCC 0
While the out hit Wallace 8-7, JDCC failed to score any runs while Wallace scored three to get a 3-0 win over the Lady Warhawks.
Alley Smith pitched seven innings in the loss allowing eight hits, three runs, walked three and struck out three.
Schanley was 3-for-4 with a double and Brittany McCastle was 1-for-3. Steadham was 2-for-4 and Danielle McCastle was 2-for-4.

WSD 15, JDCC 6
In the second game of their doubleheader with Dothan, JDCC lost 15-6 to fall to 2-8 in conference play and 16-22 overall.
Sarah Dunaway was 1-for-2 and Schanley was 1-for-4. Andrea Ruschel was 3-for-4 and Ashley Killan was 2-for-4 with one RBI. Nataline Moseley had two RBIs along with Jennifer Morris and Danielle McCastle was 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Linton took the loss on the mound going 3 1/3 innings allowing nine hits, six runs, no walks and struck out five.

JDCC 5, ASCC 2
JDCC ended their losing streak with a doubleheader sweep of Alabama Southern. JDCC won game one 5-2 turning a 2-1 deficit after three innings into a three-run win after plating three in the fifth and one in the seventh.
Schanley was 1-for-4 with one RBI. Ruschel was 1-for-4 and Brittany McCastle was 2-for-3.
Kayla Hayes was 1-for-1 and Steadham was 1-for-4.
Moseley was 1-for-3 and Danielle McCastle was 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Smith and Linton combined on the mound to go seven innings allowing six hits, two runs, two walks and struck out three.

JDCC 4, ASCC 1
In game two, JDCC won 4-1 to get the sweep.
Schanley was 1-for-3 with one RBI and Brittany McCastle was 1-for-4.
Hayes was 1-for-3 with one RBI and Armstrong was 1-for-3. Steadham was 1-for-4 and Moseley was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Danielle McCastle was 2-for-3.
Linton pitched seven innings for JDCC allowing three hits, one run, none earned, walked one and struck out six.
