TRM softball defeats J.U. Blacksher 12-0

The No. 6-ranked T.R. Miller Lady Tiger softball team picked up a shutout win on the road Thursday at J.U. Blacksher as the Lady Tigers won 12-0.
With the win, the Lady Tigers improved their overall record to 19-11. T.R. Miller will end their regular season at home Tuesday against the Hillcrest Jaguars at 4 p.m. at the Brewton YMCA Sports Park.
In the game Thursday, T.R. Miller led 5-0 after the first inning and 8-0 after the second inning. Neither team would score in the third and fourth innings, but the Lady Tigers scored four in the top of the fifth and held the Lady Bulldogs of Uriah scoreless in the bottom of the inning to get the 12-run mercy rule win in five innings.
Miranda Smith earned the win on the mound for the Lady Tigers as she pitched five innings and allowed four hits, walked none and struck out three in the win.
At the plate for the Lady Tigers, T.R. Miller was led by Natalie Neal and Taylor Guthrie as the duo went 3-for-4 with both having triples in the win.
Leah Brundidge was 1-for-4 along with Emily Waters. Audrey Hamric was 2-for-4 and Leigh Margaret Bostic was 3-for-4.
