As part of the group’s annual fundraising efforts, the Greater Brewton Area Lions Club will be serving pancakes with all the trimmings Saturday, May 24. The event will be held at the Brewton First United Methodist Church on Belleville Avenue.
The annual pancake breakfast will be held from 7 to 10 a.m. with dine-in and carry-out meals available.
The price will be $4 per adult with no charge for children under the age of 12.
The meal menu will include pancakes, Conecuh sausage, Maxwell House coffee, orange juice and Dairy Fresh milk. They will have plenty of syrup to go with the pancakes.
“Those who dine at the church will be able to enjoy ‘all you can eat’,” said Lions Club member, Patti Mitchell. “You can’t find a breakfast anywhere else for the price of $4 and still get the quantity and quality.”
A group of sponsors have made the event possible, Mitchell said.
“Our sponsors for this year’s breakfast are Magnolia Super Food, Pic-n-Sav, May Candy, Piggly Wiggly, Conecuh Sausage and Dairy Fresh,” Mitchell said.
The Greater Brewton Area Lions Club supports sight research and related projects and they provide an annual scholarship to Jefferson Davis Community College for a student at T.R. Miller High School and W.S. Neal High School. The group also seeks opportunities to provide other help within the local community.
“We always sponsor and pay for a child with diabetes to go to camp each summer,” Mitchell said. “It takes $1,000 to send one child to camp and we are going to try to sponsor three children this year to Camp Seale Harris on Lake Martin.”
The Greater Brewton Lions Club will accept old eye glasses to recycle.
