Four face drug charges

Four Brewton residents were arrested Wednesday and are now facing a variety of drug charges based on evidence seized by officers with the Brewton Police Department’s narcotics division.

Arrested were Clinton Dean Watson, 25; Jason Earl Wright, 24; Rebecca Diane Ziglar, 27; and Tonya Leigh Baker, 26, all of Brewton.

Lt. Bryan Davis, director of the BPD Narcotics Division, the suspects were arrested at around 1 p.m. when officers executed a search warrant at a residence at 4016 Old Castleberry Road.

“Upon arrival at the residence agents came into contact with Wright and Watson,” Davis said. “A search of the residence by agents found marijuana and cocaine in the residence along with several drug paraphernalia items.”

Davis said Watson and Wright were both arrested at the scene at the time of the search warrant execution. Agents took Baker and Ziglar, who reside at this residence, into custody later.

Watson faces charges of distribution of a controlled substance (marijuana); first-degree possession of marijuana, distribution of imitation of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of imitation of controlled substance; second-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wright was charged with distribution of imitation of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of imitation of controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance (cocaine).

Ziglar was charged with possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Baker was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

All four suspects were transported to the Escambia County Detention Center where they were booked on the charges filed against them by Brewton Police. No information on bond was available late Thursday.
