An Escambia County jury was chosen Monday to hear the arson case involving Toshanna Fore, who was charged in April 2010 with arson and attempted murder after a house in Spruce Street in Brewton went up in flames with four people inside.
Opening statements are expected to begin Tuesday.
Ricky Sims was injured in the blaze, which destroyed most of the house.
Brewton Police Sgt. Steven Ferguson said that when he responded to the house fire on Spruce Avenue, Fore was still on the scene.
Sgt. Bryan Davis, who is also with the Brewton Police Department, followed up on the investigation and spoke to witnesses who had heard Fore threaten to set the car on fire, Ferguson said.
