Mr. Orlando ‘Red’ Richardson, 50, died Wednesday, June 8, 2011. He was a native of Brewton, a member of First Marietta Missionary Baptist Church and worked for the City of Brewton until 2009. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eloise Richardson; and six brothers, Leroy Richardson, Robert Richardson, Conny Ray Richardson, Gullice Richardson, Clifford Spears and Lawrence Edward Bethea.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Richardson of Brewton; his father, Gullice (Lillie) Richardson Sr. of Brewton; three daughters, Yolando (Jarvis) Christian of Camden, S.C., Katherine (Dominick) Lampkin and Ashley (Anthony) Sledge, both of Pineville, S.C.; a son, Jerel Sledge of Del Rio, Texas; five stepchildren, Tenisah, Matasha, and Daryl Luckey, all of Brewton, Corey Luckey of Coatville, Penn., and Gianna Luckey of St. Louis, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; three sisters, Diann Evans of Long Beach, Calif., Gwendolyn Jones of Brewton and Willene Rchardson of Montgomery; two brothers, Henry (Jackie) Dixon of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Kenneth (Barbara Ann) Richardson of Brewton; two sisters-in-law Verna and Diane Luckey, and one brother-in-law, all of Los Angeles, Calif.; an uncle, Melvin Richardson of Brewton; seven aunts, Oria Thomas of Los Angeles, Doris Thomas and Louise Johnson, both of Brewton, Ammie (James) Bennett of Alexander City, Rebecca Micheal, and Easter (James) Jackson, both of Pensacola, Fla., and Annie Jewel of Montgomery; two special friends, Randy Williams and Herman Farrish, both of Brewton; and many other friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 14, at 11 a.m. at Second Saint Siloam Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Willie J. Blue officiating. Burial followed at Baptist Hill Cemetery with Christian Memorial Funeral Home directing.
