Sara Frances Boutwell Straughn

Mrs. Sara Frances Boutwell Straughn, 92, died Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011, in Pensacola, Fla., after a brief illness. She was a native of Repton, and a long term resident of of Century. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Eastern Star. She was an active member of the SAIL program and she, along with her husband, operated Straughn’s Hardware and Building Supply for many years. She is preceded in death by her husband, P.A. Straughn.
She is survived by her brother, William Kennedy (Rita) Boutwell of Chickasaw; her daughter, Carolyn Straughn (Calvin) Turner of Wewahitchka, Fla.; her son, William Rex (Rebecca) Straughn of Pace, Fla.; five grandchildren, July Turner (Chris) West, Joan Turner (Harold) Carnley, Tonya Straughn (Chris) Gulbranson, William Jason Straughn, Sara Ashley Straughn; and one great-grandson, Jesse Malon Smith.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Aug. 7, at 4 p.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home with the Rev. Patricia Bruner and the Rev. Janet Lee officiating. Burial followed at Flomaton Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.
