A traffic stop on Monday uncovered a large amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia — and resulted in the arrest of two Florida men, police said.
At approximately 9:30 p.m., Agent Russell Clausell with the Brewton Police Department made a traffic stop on Mildred Street in Brewton, police said.
Clausell identified the occupants of the vehicle as Keenan Knorr, 35, of Milton, Fla., and Roscoe Anys, 20, also of Milton.
“Agent Clausell observed suspicious behavior in the two men and deployed his K-9 partner, Drako,” said Bryan Davis, head of the police department’s narcotics division. “The dog was alerted to the presence of an odor of an illegal narcotic in the vehicle. Upon performing a search, officers discovered several ounces of high grade marijuana, digital scales and a large amount of U.S. currency.”
Davis said Officer Russell Pintado arrived on the scene and assisted in the traffic stop.
Knorr and Anys were both placed under arrest and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, first degree and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both subjects were transported to the Escambia County Detention Center.
