Peanuts help church with funds

Fall is in the air and so is the smell of freshly boiled peanuts — especially in East Brewton.
Members of the East Brewton First United Methodist Church started before daybreak Friday morning to boil hundreds of pounds of peanuts.
The annual event will go on throughout the day Friday as the church members work to raise funds for church expenses.
Peanuts will be sold by the bag beginning at 8 a.m. Friday morning until the supply is gone.
Pastor George Weaver will be joined by other members of the congregation in the cooking of the peanuts and throughout the day for the annual sale.
East Brewton First United Methodist Church is located on Forrest Avenue across from the East Brewton City Hall.
