A Wednesday traffic stop by Brewton Police Department officers resulted in two Brewton residents landing behind bars.
Kevin Deandrea Campbell and Aubrey Demond Dees were arrested after officers discovered a variety of illegal substances in the vehicle occupied by the two suspects.
Brewton Police Sgt. Andrew Casey said the agents who made the stop and the arrests noticed suspicious activity as they approached the vehicle.
“As the agents attempted to perform the traffic stop, they observed items that appeared to be narcotics being thrown from the vehicle,” Casey said. “The agents detained both Campbell and Dees and recovered the items thrown from the vehicle. The items were identified as illegal narcotics.”
Casey said a search of the vehicle, which was driven by Campbell, uncovered approximately $300 worth of crack/cocaine and a bag of marijuana.
Both Campbell and Dees were charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance (crack/cocaine) and possession of marijuana.
The suspects were transported to the Escambia County Detention Center and booked on the charges against them. No information on bond was immediately available.
