“Tonight was a big win for us against an area opponent,” W.S. Neal Lady Eagle head coach Jeff Haney said. “This win ensures that we are the number two seed in the area tournament next Tuesday. I am extremely proud of the way the girls played. We played with a lot of enthusiasm and did a great job controlling the ball. We lost the third set because we got a little complacent. That is something that got us beat earlier in the season, but we were able to pick up the intensity and finish the job in this match.”
Haney also said the win was night considering it was senior night for his Lady Eagles. “Our two seniors, Lauren Boatwright and Paige Grantham, did a great job leading the team on the floor,” Haney said. “They are both integral parts of our team and will leave a void that will be difficult to fill next season. The team and I are excited about the next week and we can’t wait to be back on the court.”
